Typically, if between only 10 and 25 percent of a watershed is impervious, its channels and pools begin to degrade. Impervious development in a watershed at rates
above 25 percent usually produces degraded streams,
silted waters and deteriorates them into a state of chaos.
To aid in the development of stable watersheds (defined
as less than 10 percent of land with impervious cover)
we present concepts for retaining, infiltrating and
purifying water to retain it on site (See Figures 2 & 4).
Assuming that a watershed is “stable”, we present concepts
for constructing or reconstructing pool edges (See Figure 5).
